Angiopoietin-2 levels are elevated in exudative pleural effusions

Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) are elevated in exudative pleural effusions (PEs), correlating with inflammation markers. Ang-1 levels do not differ significantly in PEs.
