Summary

Plasma cortisol levels in postpartum beef cows increase significantly after suckling, returning to baseline within 40 minutes. These cortisol responses remained consistent throughout the early postpartum period.

  • To investigate the plasma cortisol concentration profiles in postpartum beef cows following suckling.
