Abstract:
In this article the treatment of drug-induced extrapyramidal disorders is briefly reviewed. Anticholinergic antiparkinsonian drugs are discussed with emphasis on the extent of their usage; the potential for abuse, causing confusion, and impairing cognition; and their effect on neuroleptic drug levels and on tardive dyskinesia. Practical guidance for their use is included.
