Summary

Spermatozoa with lower docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), and higher omega-6 to omega-3 (w6/w3) ratios are linked to male infertility. These fatty acid changes may contribute to reduced sperm motility, concentration, and morphology.

  • Semen samples from normozoospermic, asthenozoospermic, oligozoospermic, and oligoasthenozoospermic men were analyzed for fatty acid composition.
