[Microscopy of urinary sediment in polarized light]

Examinations of the urine sediment native preparations in polarized light have revealed that a comprehensive analysis of the morphology and interference staining of the sediment crystal components provides a 100 per cent accurate and rapid identification of crystalluria type as against the routine method; this permits correct diagnosis of dysmetabolic nephropathies and metabolic diatheses and purposeful treatment and correction thereof.
