[The preparation of solutions with a strictly graduated gradient]

The author suggests a simplified technique for rapid preparing of strictly cascade-like gradient solutions in tubes for ultracentrifugation. The essence of the method is as follows. To reduce the rate of the layered fluid current and to make this stream laminar, it is let to flow over a large surface of the ultracentrifugation tube in a thin layer. The required thin layer of the fluid is created between the cellulose tube walls and its metal cap, that functions as a plunger.
