Cerebral microbleeds and intravenous thrombolysis: case report

Intravenous thrombolysis for ischemic stroke is effective, but carries a risk of intracranial hemorrhage. This case study shows a patient with cerebral microbleeds safely received thrombolysis, suggesting microbleeds may not always preclude treatment.

- Further research is warranted to clarify the precise risk stratification associated with CMBs and thrombolysis.
- Individualized patient assessment is crucial when considering thrombolysis in the presence of CMBs.
