Rous Sarcoma virus or RSV was discovered by F. Peyton Rous in the year 1911 as a filterable transmissible agent that could cause tumors in chickens. He won a Nobel Prize for this discovery in 1966. Background:

Salivary duct carcinoma is an exceptionally rare salivary gland neoplasm.
This tumor primarily affects the parotid gland and shares histological similarities with breast ductal carcinoma.

Observation:

A case of salivary duct carcinoma in the parotid gland of a 62-year-old male patient is presented.
The tumor's confinement to the parotid gland facilitated complete surgical resection.

Findings:

Two-year follow-up revealed no signs of tumor recurrence following radical treatment.
The case underscores the importance of clinicopathological features in understanding this rare entity.

Implications:

Salivary duct carcinoma is clinically defined by local invasiveness, propensity for metastasis, and a generally poor prognosis.
This report emphasizes key prognostic factors and clinical presentation of salivary duct carcinoma.
