Abstract:
Implantation of an endocardial lead into the right atrial appendage is itself a simple procedure but may offer complexity if the lead is introduced from the left side of the body. Experimentation on eight corpses allowed determination of an efficient method of rapid and reliable implantation of a lead using an S-shaped stylet. The method has been used successfully in 65 clinical instances.
