CTRM raises the bar for patient safety and staff productivity

Ever since the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) included medical communications among its National Patient Safety Goals, hospital administrators have become increasingly aware of this weak link in healthcare delivery. A growing number of hospitals, including Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, are implementing critical test result management (CTRM) technology that specifically addresses and solves the problem of critical values reporting. CTRM technology did not even exist until 2-3 years ago. Now that it is here, it will likely become standard practice for hospitals everywhere.
