  • Children with bilateral tonsillar hyperplasia underwent laser tonsillotomy.
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser was used to dissect the tonsillar mass.
  • The tonsillar bed was intentionally left untouched during the procedure.

Findings:

  • Laser tonsillotomy successfully reduced the bulk of enlarged tonsils.
  • The procedure was evaluated based on intraoperative and postoperative conditions.
  • This technique offers a minimally invasive approach to tonsil reduction.

Implications:

  • Laser tonsillotomy may be a viable alternative to traditional tonsillectomy for specific pediatric cases.
  • Further research can explore long-term efficacy and patient-reported outcomes.
