Abstract:
The objective of the present study was to characterize the knowledge and use of computational resources by nursing undergraduates of a public university. A quantitative study was conducted with 123 nursing students (45 in the 1st term of the course, 35 in the 5th term, and 43 in the 9th term). Data were processed using the software package Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), and Pearson's chi-square test was applied with a significance level of p < or = 0.05. Results showed that students considered that their knowledge on information technology informatics was basic and intermediary, that it was acquired mostly by self-teaching, and that it had not significantly improved during the course.
