  • To present a technique for laparoscopic-assisted restorative proctocolectomy (LRP) combined with transanal rectal mucosectomy for UC.
  • To evaluate the feasibility and outcomes of this combined surgical approach.

  • Twenty-one patients with UC underwent LRP with transanal rectal mucosectomy.
  • Rectal mobilization and transection were achieved using laparoscopic dissection and transanal mucosectomy.
  • Surgical technique evolved based on surgeon experience and pelvic dissection complexity.

  • Median operative time was 404 minutes; median blood loss was 120 g.
