Impedance manometry with viscous test solution increases detection of esophageal function defects compared to liquid

A viscous solution detects more esophageal manometric abnormalities than a liquid solution during multichannel intraluminal impedance and manometry (MII-EM) testing. However, impedance diagnosis shows similar results for both liquid and viscous swallows.
