Faecal occult blood tests--eliminate, enhance or update?

Guaiac-based faecal occult blood tests (FOBT) are effective for colorectal cancer screening in asymptomatic individuals. However, FOBT shows little value in symptomatic patients and faces challenges in sample collection and analysis, suggesting a shift to newer methods.
