Summary

Warthin's tumour, a rare salivary gland neoplasm, can occur in the neck lymph nodes. This case highlights the importance of considering ectopic Warthin's tumour in the differential diagnosis of neck masses.

Background:

Warthin's tumour typically affects the parotid gland.
Ectopic Warthin's tumour can arise in para-parotid and cervical lymph nodes.

Observation:

A 60-year-old male presented with a 3-month history of a smooth, mobile neck mass.
CT imaging revealed a cystic lesion in the right upper neck, separate from major salivary glands.

Findings:

Surgical excision and histological examination confirmed the mass as Warthin's tumour.
The lesion measured 8 x 4 x 3 cm.

Implications:

Ectopic Warthin's tumour should be considered in the differential diagnosis of cystic neck lesions.
