Abstract:
Studies of 186 patients aged 42-75 years with chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency of the brainstem were performed by recording spinal-bulbar-spinal and blink reflexes. Their characteristics were compared with MRI data. The results supported the view that neurophysiological abnormalities appear prior to changes in neuroimaging results, which emphasizes the practical importance and economy of using both investigation methods.
