Abstract:
The article deals with a review of the present-day literature data regarding administration of lipid-decreasing agents--statins in clinical practice of cardiologists and heart surgeons. In the context of the constantly accumulating evidence-based findings concerning efficacy of administration of statins in patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases, the authors describe the importance of therapy with statins in order to prevent complications after atherothrombosis.
