Transmittance ratio of a compensator: influence of detector sensitivity
Abstract:
A scheme for the measurement of the transmittance ratio of a compensator was presented by Kothiyal [Appl. Opt. 14, 2935 (1975)]. For such a scheme we present in this paper theoretical and experimental investigations on the setting uncertainty of the compensator and analyzer considering the limited sensitivity of the detector. Information on the expected uncertainty of the measured values of the compensator amplitude transmittance ratio rho and the compensator retardation Delta is also given.
