[Periodontal status in generalized osteoporosis in women with ovarian functional insufficiency]

Enhanced atrophic processes in periodontal tissues were revealed in women with inadequate ovarian function (primary amenorrhea, ovariectomy, climax), examined by clinical methods and by determining their periodontal inflammation index, hygienic index, gingival fluid level, and by x-ray methods. The findings correspond to generalized osteoporosis signs; this condition was detected by single-photon absorptiometry and ultrasonic osteometry.
