A new magnetic resonance imaging technique, slab-selective phase-sensitive inversion-recovery (SPI), improves the detection of intraplaque hemorrhage in atherosclerosis. SPI offers better contrast and blood suppression than current methods, aiding in identifying vulnerable plaques.
