Objective:
To study the chemical constituents of Vitex trifolia.
Methods:
Chromatography and spectroscopic analysis were employed to isolate and elucidate the chemical constituents in the plant.
Results:
Five triterpenoids were obtained and identified as ursolic acid (I),2alpha,3alpha-dihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid (II), betulinic acid (11), taraxerol (IV), 2alpha,3beta, 19-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid (V).
Conclusion:
Compounds 1-5 are isolated from this plant for the first time.
