Under-utilisation of community mental health services by elders: examining policy barriers

Older patients are receptive to mental health care. Why then do they often receive fewer community mental health services than other patients? This article identifies prejudices in the medical fraternity and failures in US public health policies as underlying causes in the relative lack mental health services for older patients.
