This study successfully treated maxillary protrusion in an 11-year-old girl using the Vari-Simplex-Discipline method. The orthodontic treatment achieved ideal facial harmony by correcting lip protrusion and overjet.

Area of Science:

  • Dentistry
  • Orthodontics
  • Facial Orthopedics

Background:

  • Achieving facial harmony and balance is a primary goal in orthodontic treatment.
  • Maxillary protrusion requires specific attention for optimal aesthetic and functional outcomes.

Observation:

  • An 11-year-old female patient presented with significant maxillary protrusion.
  • The patient's chief complaint was the protrusion of her upper jaw and lips.

Findings:

  • Extraction of all four first premolars (4/4 4/4) was performed.
  • Treatment with the Vari-Simplex-Discipline for 43 months effectively corrected excessive lip protrusion.
  • Ideal interdigitation, corrected ANB angle, and reduced overjet were achieved.

Implications:
