[Diseases due to circulating immune complexes]
1Pavillon S (Service de pédiatrie), Hôpital Edouard-Herriot, Lyon, France.
Abstract:
Antigen-antibody complexes frequently occur in physiological immune-responses. Immune complex disease is mediated by the formation of antigen-antibody aggregates within the circulation and their pathological deposition in various tissues, especially in glomeruli, arterial walls and choroid plexus. The pathological mechanisms and the numerous immune complex diseases are reviewed.
