Abstract:
In the title compound, [Cu(NO(2))(2)(C(5)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, the Cu(2+) ion exhibits site symmetry 2 and is hexacoordinated by four O atoms from two nitrite ions and two N atoms from two 2-ethyl-1H-imidazole mol-ecules. A free water mol-ecule assists in forming a three-dimensional network holding together the complexes via O-H⋯N, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
