Selective impairment of auditory selective attention under concurrent cognitive load

Concurrent cognitive load selectively impairs auditory selective attention. This study found that nonverbal cognitive load affected nonverbal auditory tasks, while verbal load affected verbal auditory tasks, suggesting distinct auditory processing resources.
