Exploring the implications of modernized European legislation
1Faculty of Health and Human Sciences, University of Hertfordshire.
Abstract:
On many occasions in this column, I have discussed the unique experience of the student nurse and the many ways that that experience differs from other students within the university. In June, the European Commission published a consultation on a green paper entitled Modernising the Professional Qualifications Directive, the aim of which was to modernize the legislation allowing individual EU citizens to realize their individual right to work anywhere in the EU. This embraces nurses as one of many professional groups; however, there are a number of issues which must be considered discretely.
