Abstract:
The rigid fixation of distal radius fractures by T plates needs a bone substance of sufficient strength to insert screws. In case of advanced osteoporosis only the cortical cone will provide a secure fixation. In this investigation the results of measurement concerning the thickness of palmar and dorsal cortical bone of the distal radius are reported relating to age and sex.
