Heart rate variability and methylphenidate in children with ADHD

Methylphenidate (MPH) treatment for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) appears to improve heart rate variability (HRV) and autonomic activation in children. This pilot study found MPH ameliorated decreased vagal tone and higher heart rates observed in unmedicated ADHD patients.
