Collagenase inhibitors from Viola yedoensis

Viola yedoensis extracts yielded potent inhibitors of Clostridium histolyticum collagenase (ChC). Scopoletin and esculetin were identified, with scopoletin showing significant activity. Further modifications enhanced ChC inhibition.
