Abstract:
This article considers the expression of myeloid cell-associated antigens on both normal and malignant myeloid cells. Progress in the use of monoclonal antibodies to myeloid cell surface antigens for the diagnosis, subclassification, and treatment of acute myeloid leukemia is discussed. The results of bone marrow purging with monoclonal antibodies to remove leukemia cells for the purpose of autologous bone-marrow transplantation are promising.
