Dermal hypersensitivity reaction: a PCR-confirmed pattern of herpetic dermatitis

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) aids definitive diagnosis of herpetic dermatitis, even when clinical and histopathologic findings are unclear. This herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella zoster virus (VZV) test improves diagnostic accuracy.
