Existing juvenile justice interventions demonstrate limited effectiveness in reducing recidivism.
There is a need for innovative approaches to support positive behavioral change in system-involved youth.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe the development of a prototype multimedia computer-tailored intervention called Rise Above Your Situation (RAYS).
To evaluate the feasibility and user perceptions of the RAYS program among juvenile justice-involved youths and their counselors.

The RAYS intervention utilizes the Transtheoretical Model and expert system technology.
It provides assessments, personalized feedback, and reports for both youths and counselors.
A feasibility test was conducted with 60 system-involved youths and their counselors.
