Summary

The transgastric approach using three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (3DTEE) offers superior visualization of the mitral valve complex compared to the conventional mid-esophageal view. This method provides better detail of papillary muscles and chordal structures for patients undergoing mitral valve surgery.
