Summary

This study presents a novel method for reconstructing mandibular defects using a prefabricated titanium mesh with iliac cancellous bone. This technique offers a viable alternative when vascularized bone grafting is not feasible, ensuring good functional and esthetic outcomes.

  • In some cases, boiled non-tumorous mandible bone was also incorporated.
  • Main Results:

    • All seven patients achieved primary wound healing without complications.
    • No reconstructive complications were observed during the follow-up period.
    • Patients reported high satisfaction with both esthetic and functional results.

    Conclusions:

    • The CAD/CAM prefabricated titanium mesh with iliac cancellous bone graft is a feasible and effective alternative for mandibular reconstruction.
    • This method is particularly valuable when vascularized bone grafting is not an option.
    • The technique provides satisfactory esthetic and functional outcomes for patients.
