Polyamory involves consensual romantic relationships with multiple partners.
Research has not extensively explored the interplay between need fulfillment in one relationship and outcomes in concurrent relationships.

To investigate the relationship between need fulfillment in one polyamorous relationship and outcomes (satisfaction, commitment) in a concurrent relationship.
To examine the independence of concurrent romantic relationships in polyamory.

1,093 polyamorous individuals completed online surveys.
Measures included need fulfillment, relationship satisfaction, and commitment for two concurrent relationships.

Participants reported high need fulfillment and satisfaction in both relationships.

No association was found between need fulfillment in one relationship and commitment to the other.
