[Clinical diagnosis in system therapy: a study of interrater agreement of analog relationship maps]
Abstract:
We showed in two sequences of five minutes, a video of the beginnings of three first-interviews to 46 system therapists (9 supervisors, 37 therapists) and 12 students. The first task of the participants was to describe the relationships between the members of the families using symbols. The second task was to indicate, on a rating scale, the subjective security (therapists, students) and the difficulty of the assignments (supervisors). We proved that the "agreement over judges" of the indications of relationships were in all three groups higher than one can expect by the "law of chance". The significant correlations between the subjective security ratings and the agreement by the therapists were of special interest. The significant correlations between the ratings of difficulty by the supervisors and the agreement of therapists were also interesting. The students agreement was relativized by the totally missing correlations first to the subjective security ratings and second to the supervisors ratings of the difficulty.
