Background:

Accelerated, second-degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs are increasing.
There is limited data on the long-term workforce participation of these graduates.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the employment status and career progression of graduates from accelerated, second-degree BSN programs.
To determine if graduates are actively working in nursing 5 years after completing their BSN.

Main Methods:

Retrospective study design.
Analysis of work activities and further education of program graduates.

Main Results:

The majority of accelerated BSN graduates are employed in nursing roles.
A significant percentage of graduates are pursuing or have obtained advanced nursing degrees.

Conclusions:

Graduates of accelerated, second-degree BSN programs successfully integrate into the nursing workforce.
These programs contribute to a growing pool of nurses, many with advanced qualifications.
