Summary

Mycoplasma (a type of bacteria) were found in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients with gingivitis and periodontitis. Higher proportions of mycoplasma were observed in periodontitis patients, suggesting a link to chronic inflammatory periodontal disease (CIPD).
