Summary

Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) in an absorbable collagen sponge (ACS) carrier shows promise for alveolar ridge and maxillary sinus augmentation. While effective, autogenous bone grafts demonstrated greater bone height in sinus augmentation.
