Prevention of deep venous thrombosis

The increasing widespread use of objective methods to detect deep venous thrombosis has made possible to identify various groups of patients at different risk for developing this pathological condition. The present review provides a tentative scheme, based upon analysis of the most rigorous literature studies, for selection of the available methods of prevention according to the different risk levels.
