Improved mitral valve performance after transapical aortic valve implantation

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) with the Edwards SAPIEN prosthesis improves mitral regurgitation (MR). Moderate/severe MR increases early mortality but does not affect long-term survival after TAVI.
