[A method of sealing glass tubes during filling with polyacrylamide gel]

Hermetic sealing of glass tubes during polyacrylamide gel flooding, performed around the external surface with the threaded clamping ring and a rubber ring of the packing (models 69, 71 for electrophoresis, Reanal, Hungary) does not provide a reliable hermetic sealing. A method for sealing the tubes at the end with pressing the tube into sheet rubber is suggested. A device has been developed, vertically pressing onto the tube until its lower end sinks in the rubber.
