A new self-gated alternating repetition time balanced steady-state free precession (ATR-SSFP) sequence allows for fat-suppressed cardiac cine imaging without electrocardiogram (ECG) gating. This novel method maintains imaging efficiency and image quality comparable to traditional ECG-gated techniques.
