[Preparation of hyperimmune sera to Yersinia enterocolitica]

The authors describe one of the modifications of the method for the preparation of rabbit sera hyperimmune to Y. enterocolitica by intracutaneous injections (into 5 sites of the back) of the antigen with Freund's adjuvant, followed by intravenous revaccinations. The antigen for immunization has been prepared by heating Yersinia suspension (1.10(6) bacterial cells per ml) in boiling water bath for 2 hrs. The course of a rabbit immunization takes approximately 3.10(6) bacterial cells. Antibody titers in the prepared sera have been 1:10240-1:20480; the sera have been highly specific.
