[The detection of erythrocyte membrane disorders in hypertension]
The new method for the diagnosis of essential hypertension is based on differential binding of monoclonal antibodies with red cell membrane preparations. Examinations of 86 patients with arterial hypertension have shown that this method differentiates secondary renal hypertension from essential hypertension in 70% of cases. Possible clinical applications of this diagnostic method are described.
