Objectively recorded physical activity and the association with gestational diabetes

Objective physical activity, measured in steps per day during early pregnancy, is linked to a reduced risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Increased daily steps in early gestation were associated with a lower likelihood of developing GDM.

- Promoting physical activity in early pregnancy may be a viable strategy for GDM prevention.
- These findings highlight the importance of objective PA assessment in understanding pregnancy outcomes.
