[Cancer rehabilitation of adult patients]

Cancer rehabilitation is a health-care activity enabling cancer patients to reach and maintain their optimal physical, psychological and social functional levels. It includes a variety of interventions targeting the different problems facing patients and their relatives as a consequence of having cancer. To improve patient outcomes political and professional prioritization is needed, ensuring knowledge among professionals of evidence-based interventions, of screening methods for identification of needs, and supply of relevant rehabilitation programmes. Rigorously designed research is recommended.
