Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) is linked to psoriatic arthritis (PsA). While IgG subclass elevations are common in PsA, they don't predict specific disease features but offer insights into MGUS development.

Purpose of the Study:
- To investigate IgG subclass profiles in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) patients.
- To correlate IgG subclass levels with specific clinical and serological disease characteristics in PsA.

- Serum IgG subclass levels were analyzed in 221 PsA patients meeting CASPAR criteria.
- MGUS was identified by specific criteria on serum protein electrophoresis.
- Patients with abnormal IgG subclass levels were compared to those with normal levels.

- Elevations in IgG1-4 were common in PsA, with IgG2 most frequent.
- No clinical-serological correlation was found for abnormal IgG2 levels.
- In MGUS patients, IgG1 elevations were most common and associated with specific biomarkers.
Conclusions:
- IgG subclass determination in PsA did not significantly aid in identifying disease manifestations.
- The study provides insights into the pathological mechanisms underlying MGUS in PsA.
